Man-made Masks

My students' mask works. Really good. They are so creative!

Can I touch it?

Here are some pictures I took at the park near the bus terminal yesterday. The clouds were so close I felt as if I could reach up on my tippy toes and touch them. I love living in this town.

It makes me feel so close to God and nature's artwork.

Good ol' country boys

These are my 6th grade boys from my country school. There used to be nine students but a few have transferred and now there are only 4 kids in the entire 6th grade. I love these boys. They are energetic, sweet and delightful. My students are the best part of being in this country.

Their hearts are pure and I adore them.

Here's to another year! Cheers So Ko!

Ok, I have done it. I have renewed for ANOTHER contract.

Yes, I will stay in South Korea for another year, my third year. I still cannot believe it. When I first came here, my goal was to stay here for two years and not another minute longer. But recent personal challenges have put me in a position where I get to enjoy the beautiful mountains of South Korea for another year, y'all!!!!!

Woooohooooo!!!!

I can't lie, my hands shook as I circled YES on the renewal contract.
ANOTHER YEAR AWAY FROM REAL LOVE AND FAMILY.
ANOTHER YEAR LIVING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD AWAY FROM PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME FOR MYSELF.

ANOTHER YEAR.

SHUCKS! I CAN DO THIS!

I will build up my support system and make sure that I travel more locally in order to push back loneliness and embrace all the goodness life has to offer here. When life throws you a curve, bend with it and look for the good in everything.

Happiness is a choice.
I choose to be happy!!
(Does it sound convincing? Not yet, huh? LOL. I gotta work on it.)
Cheers!
Here's to ANOTHER year, Korea!

Sleep much?

It has been a stressful end of the year. I have taken to using sleeping pills to silence my thoughts at night.

Yes, I know this is wrong.

No, they are not expensive.

No, I do not think they are addictive. And, no, I do not understand what the words on the boxes say! LOL! I gave up questioning the doctors/pharmacists here after the first 8 months.
These have helped me to get a good night's rest every few days.

Yes, I will stop using them soon.
It is either sleeping pills or buckets and buckets of ice cream.

Which would you choose?

Good job, teachers. Job well done!

Another school year is coming to an end. Next week is the last full week of classes before the end of the semester. I just wanted to congratulate myself and all of the other teachers out there who are dedicated and love their students. We have done our jobs to the best of our abilities. Congratulate yourself on a job well done. Now take a nice, sweet break and enjoy yourself before the next cute rugrats come into your life.

Hugs and kisses to all the teachers out there!!

How do I eat crab legs with chopsticks?

Can you PLEASE tell me how am I suppose to eat crab legs with chopsticks?
I have learned to eat almost everything with chopsticks, even chicken wings.
Yes, chicken wings! LOL. But for the life of me, I cannot eat crab legs with chopsticks.

It feels like I am not eating the way I have been taught to eat crab legs - with my fingers and enthusiasm!! It is like eating a mango (or pizza) with a fork and knife.

Help! I want to use my fingers sooooo much!

Angels among us
