My new, new co~teacher just brought this to me as a Chuseok gift. It was very kind of her.
You see, almost all employers give Chuseok gifts to all of their employees. But most expats are excluded. Even though we work alongside the other employees.
I've only had my first two Principals get me a gift for this huge national holiday. The others basically ignore my existence. I no longer get upset. I just laugh at their blissful ignorance.
Even some factory workers get huge bottles of shampoo or alcohol.
Yeah, this culture both hates and needs foreign workers. Ironic, right?
